According to Fertility Friend my ovulation day was in fact CD 18. I am now on CD 22. That means if I have a 24 day cycle again this month (nooo!) my luteal phase will be 6 days... far too short to sustain a pregnancy. If my cycle is 27 days long my luteal phase will be 9 days- almost there but not long enough. If my cycle is 29 days long my luteal phase will be 11 days long.. and I think that might just be long enough but I think ideally we are hoping for a a strong luteal phase of at least 12-14 days which would make my cycle about 32 days long... that would be a good strong cycle. And that is in fact the longest cycle I have ever had... of course... I have also had a cycle where pregnancy occured only to miscarry at CD 32/35. And that would suck. Do the miscarriages happen because the luteal phase is too short? Or are they happening because of chromosonal problems occuring at that stage of cell division and development?
The fact that it keeps happening at the same time and the fact that my luteal phases are so wonky makes me believe this is not a chromosonal problem. It makes me believe it is a luteal phase problem. However, I did use the progesterone suppositories with the last pregnancy and I miscarried anyway. Which begs the question- was I getting enough of the progesterone suppository? Was the use frequent enough? I was using 100mg once a day at bedtime only... could the drop in progesterone throughout the day have caused my uterine lining to shed? Who knows? Even the 'experts' have no clue apparently. Well - bank or bust... here we go on a journey to see one of the following things...
a.) how long my luteal phase is this month
b.) if I get pregnant - let's hope it sticks.
Now it's just a waiting game...
Til tomorrow...
